Chris Cox will be performing his 'Mind Over Patter' show
at the Redgrave Theatre, Clifton, Bristol. Saturday 9th October at 8.00pm. This one night only will be the first local show for the Bristolian mind-reader in 3 years.
Chris Cox is the UK's most exciting mind-reader who can't read minds, and is renowned for his incredible ability to predict the unpredictable.
Fresh from sell out runs at the Edinburgh Fringe, New Zealand International Comedy Festival & a UK tour Chris returns home for the first time in 3 years with his award-winning show for one night only, featuring a selection of previously unseen feats to frazzle your brains and astound your minds.
Unleashing the dormant mind-reader in every audience member, Chris envisions a perfect world where the mundane can be magical, getting a seat on the train is always assured, the objects of your desire always find you irresistible – and even winning the lottery could be a possibility. Breathtakingly accurate, his predictions are a mongrel hybrid mix of psychology, magic, body language, influencing, comedy, devilish good looks, and lying. He constantly astonishes audiences with cutting-edge and highly imaginative stunts, charmingly delivered with a warm and mischievous sense of fun.

Many thanks to HCMS member Rodney Type. Rodney has been running the raffle for a few months now, and the raffle is a valuable way for the club to raise funds which goes towards the quality lectures we enjoy.
However, we can't have a raffle without prizes! Some of the prizes in the raffle at the Thom Peterson lecture were also kindly donated by Rodney, he paid for these out of his own pocket. Obviously it is unfair for Rodney to not only run the raffle each month, but also supply the prizes!
Therefore, please can members please strive to bring something with them next meeting to be used as a prize in future raffles. This can be something magic related (tricks, DVDs, books or magazines), bottles of wine, chocolates or perhaps even a gift that you got at Christmas and has sat in the cupboard ever since!
Members like Rodney put a lot of time and effort behind the scenes to run the club, and supporting the raffle is a great (and easy) way for members to make a valuable contribution. |

Member Ian Souch Features in The Marlow Free Press this week:
MARLOW'S answer to Derren Brown is preparing for the biggest gig of his life at next month's Edinburgh Fringe Festiva. Award-winning magician Ian Souch has performed at hundreds of corporate gigs, and is branching into cabaret, but his own mindreading show at the Fringe is easily the biggest thing he has ever done.
The likeable 42-year-old, who won an award at last year's Home Counties Magical Society show, said the preparation for next month's Reality Vaccine gig had been hard work but he was excited at the prospect of taking part in one of the world's biggest festivals. Like so many people in his line of work
Ian, who has been a full-time magician for six years, first started performing at a young age. "I have always been fascinated by magic," he said. "When I was in my 20s, and all my friends were working their way up the corporate ladder, I was reading, books on the power of the mind. When I carne over from South. Africa eight years ago, I joined the Magic Circle and started to meet up with more people involved with mentalism and decided it suited my persona."
