Congratulations to Ian Souch for becoming the winner of the HCMS Paul Pearman Cup for last nights Competition. A full review of the evenings competition, along with a short video will be available soon, but Ian was judged the most entertaining act of the evening by the judges.
Ian mixed some traditional magic, with some excellent mentalism effects into a wonderful show of just why he deserved to win the cup. Starting with vanishing pens and coins, he moved quickly into a book test, and multi phase prediction and Konfabulation type effect. Well done Ian. |

Andrew Webb's latest effect, 'Trick Tac' was released at this years Blackpool Magic Convention through MagicBox. The magician displays a prediction which is inside a sealed envelope. The prediction is placed into the magician’s pocket where it is visible for the remainder of the routine. He then hands the spectator an ordinary pack of tic-tacs and asks them to remove about a dozen from the box. The magician then asks the spectators to make a small row of tic-tacs containing a mix of orange and green. The magician then removes the prediction which correctly matches the spectators’ colour combination! The magician then offers to try something a little more difficult. The spectator is asked to take more tic-tacs from the box; this time keeping them hidden. They are further instructed to separate the orange from the green, holding one colour in each hand. Not only is the magician able to tell the spectators which hand holds which colour, he is also able to tell the exact quantities in each hand! It's a nice close-up effect that can be obtained directly from MagicBox for £7.99. |

Following Lewis Hamilton success with the Mercedes Benz team, a celebration party was held at the Mercedes-Benz head quarters, attended by 450 team members and guests, along with Lewis Hamilton himself. HCMS Members Richard Young, and James Bryan were both booked to perform at the event, and ended up performing for Lewis himself during the course of the evening.
Richard Young said: "James and I were lucky enough to perform for him during the course of the evening and he seemed to really enjoy the magic amongst all the other distractions of the evening. The feedback was really great from the team the following day and we have now both been invited back to perform at the Christmas Party in December."
Well done yet again to Richard, and to James for securing another high profile engagement. |
