As you may have read in Magic Magazine, Jim Steinmeyer has released a new book detailing Charles Fort: The Man Who Invented The SuperNatural, Jim's previous books have detailed many fascinating area of historic magic, Chung Ling Soo, Alan Wakeling, and more.

The supernatural, frogs falling from the sky, mysterious airships, spontaneous human combustion... it all fascinated Charles Fort, whose appetite for the paranormal lives on today in sci-fi, conspiracy theories and that quirky chronicle of the unknown.

The story of Charles Fort is a fascinating one, the term 'Fortean' that describes the aspects of the unexplained and unnatural actually stemmed from Charles Fort himself, as well as coining the word 'teleportation', inspiring the term 'Bermuda Triangle', and popularised UFOs. During the 1920's he tried to educate the readers of that time about what he found to be a intriguing subject.

There is a wonderful article on the Telegraph.co.uk website, that details just what Charles Fort was about, and his views on anything 'out of the ordinary'.

I've always enjoyed Jim's 'public' books, they are a great read, and although obviously entrenched in the world of magic, they manage to hold your interest in a different way to a normal magic type book.

The book is currently available from Amazon.co.uk for £11.89.
