'Women In Boxes' is the first film ever made that uncovers the story of the unsung hero behind the magician. The devoted, if not slightly masochistic Magic Assistant who distorts her body into impossible positions while the magicians cuts her into pieces, stabs her incessantly, sets her on fire, crushes her, dismembers her, restores her to life with a dramtic 'taa daa' and takes a box for the credit. Who is the woman who would subject herself to such torture, not to mention, the Magician's Ego?

Heretofore sworn to secrecy, this tough yet feminine group opened their homes, hearts and lives for the filmmakers and revealed the intensity of their involvement, their indispensability to the man in the spotlight; their back breaking workload, and the reasons behind their devotion to this painful art.. and to the men they serve.

Dante Larson, Phil Noyes, Harry Pallenburg and Blaire Larson's film has it's world premiere at the Cinevegas Film Festival (yes...that would be Las Vegas) this June.

Showing on Thursday, June 19th (1:30pm) & Saturday, June 21st (3:30pm) at the Brendan Theatres in the Palms Casino. An interview with director Blaire Baron Larsen about the film is being broadcast on NPR's Weekend America on Saturday, May 17th. (http://weekendamerica.publicradio.org).
