Many thanks to HCMS member Rodney Type. Rodney has been running the raffle for a few months now, and the raffle is a valuable way for the club to raise funds which goes towards the quality lectures we enjoy. However, we can't have a raffle without prizes! Some of the prizes in the raffle at the Thom Peterson lecture were also kindly donated by Rodney, he paid for these out of his own pocket. Obviously it is unfair for Rodney to not only run the raffle each month, but also supply the prizes! Therefore, please can members please strive to bring something with them next meeting to be used as a prize in future raffles. This can be something magic related (tricks, DVDs, books or magazines), bottles of wine, chocolates or perhaps even a gift that you got at Christmas and has sat in the cupboard ever since! Members like Rodney put a lot of time and effort behind the scenes to run the club, and supporting the raffle is a great (and easy) way for members to make a valuable contribution. |
