Dealing with Magic” is the autobiography of Ian Adair, author of over 250 books on Magic and one of the most prolific inventors of magical effects and routines. Ian starts with his early years which gradually developed until he became one of the lynch-pins of The Supreme Magic Company and joined the late Edwin Hooper as his partner.

The development of Supreme is well set out and one follows the expansions and innovations that took place over the years of trading, until the sad day when Edwin announced the sale of the business. Subsequent events form an unhappy story as the business slid downwards until the final bitter blow when Ian was dismissed by the “then owners”. Thanks to his resilience he started to create a new and active magical life for himself trading under his own name and also lectured and performed around the UK.

For any magician who ever made a purchase from Supreme Magic this is very definitely a “must read” and should be on the bookshelf of all. There is just one magical effect in the book, Ian’s Brainteaser Deck which once again shows the creative magical brain of a “Master of Amazement”.

Ian is an Honorary Member of the HCMS and a magical friend standing high on my list. Don’t give the purchase a second thought, buy before this limited print edition runs out.
