 Despite the very wet evening there was virtually a full house for the second edition of "An Evening of Comedy, Magic, Illusion and Mind Reading" presented last Sunday at Twyford's Loddon Hall. Clive Winterton, Chris Marris and Robert Bone were in action before and during the interval with their "in-your-face" close-up entertainment and appeared to be preforming continually, and more important, entertaining AND mystifying.

 Home Counties Member, Richard Young is no stranger to the press, and last week he appeared in the Oxford Press with regards to his recent success in joining The Magic Circle, the article mentions that Richard is one of the youngest ever magicians to win a place in The Magic Circle.
"It is something you dream of as a kid — whatever you do in life you want to be respected by your peers. It means a great deal to be accepted. It was a case of practice, practice and more practice. I often used to get in trouble at school because I was doing card tricks for friends in class instead of learning."
Now with The Magic Circle's blessing and as one of the youngest and talented of its 1,500 worldwide members Mr Young has become a professional magician and hopes to emulate global superstars, such as David Copperfield and David Blaine. |

 There has been much E mailing today as the eagerly awaited telephone calls from Rob Cox were awaited.
Congratulations to the FOUR newest members of The Magic Circle. Dan Hudson (aka Fred in the Shed), Andrew Webb, Richard Young, and Rob Gaffney who has applied to join us here in the HCMS. Sadly the three who were hoping to elevate their status to AIMC were all, "just out of the frame" but I anticipate that with the advice which will be sent to them from the three Examiners, they will be successful next time around. It was a very good evening and in my book, nothing that any of the Seven have cause to regret. |

 It's not magic related, but you may not recognise a HCMS member in todays Reading Chronicle on page 18 if you look hard enough...
I was interviewed a while back for some PR work for a UK wide activities and society group called SPICE. For the non keen of eye... That's me and Michelle in the bottom left of the article.. It's a fantastic group, and whatever it is you want to do.. from the simple to and just plain out of this world crazy.. They'll probably do it... The best events for us have been the weekends away.. The Halloween Ball at Clearwell Caves, or Invading Center Parcs.. and their list of events cover everything from walks, special access to Stonehenge, Tank driving, sports, dinners, helicopter training, you name it.. they probably do it..
