Home Counties Magical Society

The Home Counties Magical Society has about 75 members ranging in age from 12 years to way beyond retirement. Those up to the age of 16 years are Junior Members and enjoy a reduced annual subscription.

Members are drawn from a wide spectrum of occupations, including professional, skilled, and unskilled people from all walks of life. Some are professional or semi-professional magicians but many are amateur magicians, hobbyists or just interested in magic as an entertainment without being performers themselves. A unique feature of the world of magic, and of the Home Counties Magical Society in particular, is the way in which this diverse mixture of people come together on an equal basis to share their knowledge and experience of magic. So younger members can learn from the more experienced older members and in return the older members can enjoy the enthusiasm and creativity of the younger generation who hold the future of magic in their hands.

Whether your interest is in performing stage magic, close-up magic, children's magic or mentalism, or as a non-performer with an interest in the history of magic or collecting magical memorabilia, we will welcome you both young and old.

Our members enjoy performing for each other on our Club Nights and have the opportunity to interact with each other whenever we meet. If you join us you are guaranteed a warm welcome in a friendly, fun-filled and relaxed atmosphere.
